Lake Thuuuunderhead!

One of our favorite things to do this summer has been boating at the lake. The girls love it and could go for hours and hours. Jalynn and Cady love to have "tube wars" and try to force each other off of the tube. Avery enjoys more of a relaxed ride :)
Cady getting ready for an enjoyable day of boating.

Avery having a great time on the tube. I demanded that Jalynn not let her fall off on her first ride!
Next up: Jalynn & Cady
Cady is always the first one on the tube no matter who she is riding with. Here she is trying to help pull Jalynn up.
Let the tube war begin!
And the most important person on the boat: the driver. Ced is nothing but smiles as he begins the 100th ride of the day.

WORLDS OF FUN

Well, as usual, it has been several weeks since I have been on the blog. I keep thinking that I will try to quickly post each evening, but that just doesn't end up happening. It certainly hasn't been for a lack of material. We have pretty much been going at a dead run for the entire summer. Over the next several days I am hoping to post a little about how we have spent our summer.
No summer is complete without a trip to Worlds of Fun. This past Tuesday we had a little time and decided to make a quick run to the park. Luckily we only had a few hours because it was extremely hot and by the end of the day we were extremely broke:) Within 5 minutes of being there, we had dropped $50 on drinks. They sell drinks that are $12 a piece and then the refills are $0.94. This would be great if you were planning on staying for a couple of days..you just might get you money's worth. Add the drink to their $10 (nasty) "mini" cheeseburger and you feel like you are paying to dine in NYC! I am convinced that place may be just be the #1 place to get ripped off! It was all worth it though as we watched the girls have a great time on all of the rides.
Cady and Avery taking a ride on the Flying Dutchman

Taking a ride on the caterpillar rollar coaster. Luckily, Cady was able to ride this with Avery. The sign said that a "responsible adult" could accompany a child. I guess they thought that person was Cady! I think she enjoyed the ride too.

Avery was all about the bumper cars. After a little help getting the hang of the wheel, she was all over the place in that little car.

Cady having a great time on the go-cart track.

If you look close you can see Ced and Conor on the Boomerang. This was Conor's first rollercoaster. It took Jalynn a few rides to get up the nerve to ride with him, so Ced gladly joined him for this experience. Jalynn thought it was just weird that he rode his first rollercoaster with her Dad!

Avery was pretty excited to give Charlie Brown a hug at Camp Snoopy. She knew who Snoopy was, but kept asking me who the yellow man was. She made friends with him quickly and ran up and gave him a hug and said, "I love you Charlie Brown."

Jalynn really did ride several rides. Evidently, I just didn't get any of them photographed. All in all it was a great day trip. I know Avery had a good time. The next morning she hopped out of bed and said, "Mommy, shouldn't we go to World's of Fun again today?"

Playing Dress-Up

One of Avery's favorite things to do lately is play dress-up. After trying on several articles of clothing, she has decided that the outfit pictured below is her very favorite. As you can tell, these were some of Jalynn and Cady's old dress-up materials.....the hat looks as though it has been packed away in a box for quite some time.

I can't ever pass up a chance to take a picture of her toes! It will be a miracle if she doesn't twist an ankle trying to walk around in these shoes.Evidently, she worked so hard getting her new outfit on, that she forgot the most important part.....her panties!
Never a dull moment in our household!

Class of 2011

The last day of school this year at PC R-1 was on Friday, May 21st. However, the current class of graduating seniors usually get out a few days ahead of the rest of the student body. This year it was about 10 days ahead. Since Jalynn was a member of the junior class this year, the current senior class leaving meant one thing for her....she was now the big dog, a senior. Jalynn was nearly beside herself with anticipation as she counted down the days until she could announce to the rest of the town that she is now a senior. She and a group of her friends met the night before the big day and each painted all over the windows of each of their cars. Not even the pouring rain could stop them. They took turns pulling into Conor's garage to apply the paint and then she quickly drove home where she stored her car in our garage.

A shot of the back windshield. They had sayings for each of the classes.
It is hard to believe Jalynn only has one more year of high school, but very exciting at the same time. I know that she will do great as she heads into her last year and then starts to college....can't wait to see what she becomes!

Memorial Day 2010

Memorial Day 2010 was non-stop fun for the Gilworth family this year. We spent almost every waking minute at my Mom and Dad's house with my sisters and their families, my Grandpa and Grandma Fowler, Aunt Terri, and Aunt Angie and her family. There was certainly not a shortage of food or fun all weekend. My mom whipped up food all weekend and tried her best to make sure that each of us gained at least 10 pounds a piece. We told Avery and Madison that there would be no naps all weekend...just fun! We went fishing, played kickball at the old farmhouse, had a campfire, waded in the creek, shot a few firearms (the adults of course), and spent the evenings outside visiting. The weather was beautiful and the time spent together was priceless. Thanks everyone for coming! Can't wait for the next holiday! Below are just a few pictures from the creek...the only event that I had my camera with me.

Our family-Memorial Day 2010 Even Jalynn was having a great time with the family!
All of the girls with Jeana and Michael. I think they all like each other just a little bit :)

All loaded up and ready to head back to the house for the next event.
